    ATf is cheap, but because I have 5gal buckets of air-tool oil, thats what i use.

    Yes, two different styles. There should be an adapter to use annular bits in a standard chuck, but I haven't found one yet. (Not high on my list though).

    Marcel pretty much summed it up. Some of them use annular cutters rather than drill bits, but the annular cutters are $$.
