    I shift my FLU very gently. No reason not to since it shifts so easily and smoothly. However, we don't know how the previous drivers treated them. I remember my days in the Army!

    There are some people around with "Parts SEEs". I would check the posts and also put an ad for Parts Wanted. Check also on Benz World under the Unimog section. I've seen Unimog transmissions for sale on Ebay so you might find one there as well.

    Wow! I'm surprised that the shifter snapped off. The problem is with these ex-military vehicles you have no idea what someone has done to them in the past. There have been some people with "Parts" SEEs around. I would wait and see if someone responds to your post.
