    M35 Replacement alternator

Try searching for Lester numbers instead of the SI numbers. Takes a little more research and detailed searching but not everybody lists the SI number.

    M35 Replacement alternator

Performance factor aside, I'd rather be lifting a 20lb alternator in and out of the engine compartment than a 50 lb one.

    M35 Replacement alternator

I moved my primary back one hole when I installed my alt. Just seemed like the sensible thing to do. At the same time, I also moved the fuel line from the bottom of the engine crossmember to the back of it. The lines are only copper and they bend very easily. Mine already had a flat spot...

    M35 Replacement alternator

Given the location of this thread within the forum, it would probably be safe to assume he is replacing a stock alternator on an M35A2 or M35A3, which has a 5/8" pulley shaft. As far as I know, the 21SI, 22SI and 27SI replacements all use a 7/8" pulley shaft. LowTech: with the new pulley on...

    M35 Replacement alternator

I stand corrected and offer an aplogy. I looked at your ad but the pictures are pretty fuzzy and out of focus so I guess I couldn't really tell how everything mounted up and having the dual alt setup in there kind of confused the issue even further. I may have mistaken yours for another that...

    M35 Replacement alternator

Maybe I'm mistaken. Does your system not mount the alternator with the single mounting tab down, the double tabs up and use an extension bracket that goes up to form a 90° angle to support the rear mounting tab?

    M35 Replacement alternator

I didn't like the upside-down mounting design of either tm america's or Wolverine's kits. Seemed overly complex and not robust.

    M35 Replacement alternator

I just installed my 24v 1-wire last week (eBay, $63 shipped, made my own bracket and drilled out the pulley) and so far I'm 100% pleased with it.
