The litter mount are what holds the stretchers, it consists of floor mounts, support mounts and rails, the jeep can be set up in 4 configurations, no litters, 1,2 or all 3 litters.

Getting the emissions tank all hooked up along with installing the litter mounts.

Time to move to the engine, when I started this restoration, the engine was running great, so I knew all my work was cosmetic. After cleaning, scraping, wire brush and sanding, she was ready for a fresh coat of paint, wanted the engine bay to match the rest of the jeep.

Time to put the 50+ year old canvas top on, always read that canvas would shrink over the years, that would be correct, it took some creative ideas and months to get the top and curtains to stretch back into position. Couldn't just grab it and pull on it, was scared I would tear seams and...

The time came for a new set of shoes, was dreading the cost, got lucky and found these on craigslist for $200 about 150 miles away, road trip. Got the rims cleaned up and painted, tires mounted, she was back on her feet.

Time to put this jeep back together, all necessary bushings, seals and rubber replaced. Had to make the bottom side match the top side. Getting parts cleaned, blasted and painted.

Time to head outside for a paint job, 3 coats of red oxide primer and 3 coats of Gillespie 24087, this was sprayed with a $15 Harbor Freight HVLP spray gun, being a backyard painter, I didn't know the difference. More dismantling, the fun starts soon. Never what you will find under the fuel tank, the switch still works.

Three items that took many years of searching, front folding seat, U shaped litter mount and the matching LH side curtain. It had the front folding seat in it when I bought it, but they had gorilla welded the hinges together.

I have many more rebuild stories and pics to follow, thought I would throw in a couple more finished product pics to keep it on your mind, don't vote too early, I won't let you down.:)

So the teardown begins, rusty bolts, busted knuckles, cool beverages and a little swearing but if you put your mind to it, a one man show can accomplish more than expected and the blisters from the scraping hasn't even started.:LOL: If you look close, the jeep came with a couple of nice M38 rims.
