    Split rims are realy not all that dangerous if you KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. yes they do come apart during or after assembly BUT 99% of the time it is due to rust or dirt under the ring military vehicles usualy dont have rusty rims so thats always a plus i always wire brush my rings and seats...
