    I second the battery adapters. It is much easier to keep D cells on hand and the adapters work great. I have one for each of my PRC-25s

    There is a guy that makes battery packs for them that take D cell batteries. Here is a link to his PDF catalog Looks like he also makes 12 volt cigarette lighter adapters for them also.
