    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

All I can say is bless your wife because mine would have driven to her moms or a hotel at "D".

    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

I have been thinking about it plenty. Figuring on a base load of about 2500w which covers heat, lights, water heater "running amps only", UV water treatment light, TV's, Sat boxes etc. and other junk the wife and kids have plugged in. But then I have fridge, freezer, 3/4 well pump that could in...

    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

I am leaning more towards an MEP-803A. My heat pump hot water heater runs on 600w but the compressor requires 19.6A to start (240v). Between that, the well pump, fridge and freezer I may be pushing my luck on anything less due to starting loads. Those are items that are difficult to control when...

    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

Government over pays for everything because its not their money they spend. Too many people think they are worth what the original tag said. 8 hours is considered used. May look like new but is used. Try driving a car off the lot, go cruising for 8 hours and then trade it in one time. it is...

There is an id plate just not sure what it says based on photo. Did new motors have id plate too? It is near the bottom of the block.

Did the military rebuild engines or just replace them? Just curious if an engine was replaced would the engine identification plate have a date on it?

You could be onto something that didn't register with me because I always spray my equipment with WD-40 to displace moisture and it looks just like that.

    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

The guy that is selling it got it off GL and took the risk. Not sure I will ever deal with GL so will have to pay a certian premium. As for the exhaust, my opinion is that it is an unpainted surface and would rust and to me looks normal? Still not sure what to do just yet. If I knew the 802...

I think it would be too loud.

    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

It is nicer than the 803A I am looking at but the 803 is really a very close second. Its a tough decision which way to go. Well maybe not too difficult because with the 803A there is no chance I would end up underpowered.

Perfect. Hoping you can figure out what a good stable max rating is for the 802A. I know everyone likes photos so here are some of a 2010 802A that I was looking at. Has 18 original hours on it and comes with fuel hose. Still unsure if I want to make the leap at the asking price of $4k and/or...

    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

I am having a hard time deciding which to get. I have a pellet stove for heat so it only needs 400w to run it but it needs clean power or the pcb can burn out. Do these units put out power like comes from the power company or are they unstable like any run if the mill non inverter generator...

    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

It only had 5 hrs on it when I bought it. It is a Yanmar L90 single cylinder engine and I think thats how single cylinders run. I have seen videos of 802A's running and they dont appear as smooth as the 803's (especially noticeable during shutdown) so more cylinders and mass even out the bumps...

    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

Thanks, I wanted to get feedback from others too so I started a thread. I would love to hear your experience on the 803A once you get some hours on it. After reading that you ran the 802A for 24 hours on 5 gal, I am really unsure what I should do because that is really good. I usually keep 100...

    MEP-802A and MEP-803A fuel consumption

Hi, New to the forum but hope to be able to contribute in the future. I am interested in picking up a 802A or 803A but having a hard time deciding which one. I would like the extra power of the 803A but most of the time (especially nights) it would be over kill and waste of fuel. I really only...
