What other option is there to start it when the glow plugs are not working and its 20 degrees out? I generally only use ether to seat stubborn tire beads :) -

I have an M998 (rebuilt in 2005) with KDS smart start box. The wait light does not come on, fuel gauge isn't work but all other gauges seem to work fine. I can get it to start with starting fluid and it runs fine. I opened the box and see what appears to be a burned diode (see picture). I tested...
