Make sure for A2 you are getting the later version from 2012. The link has all the repair and parts series from 2012 that will include the A2. The earlier ones do not cover abs or the 8.3L. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?121487-TMs-for-M939-Series-Trucks

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

any of the antenna will mount to the "universal" sugar scoop. The as3916 uses a metal whip so you can cut it down to any length. I had the as3900 with the 2 piece fiberglass but had problems with it hanging up on trees since I went to super singles. Actually cracked one base section. I have now...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

changed floor mounted dimmer switch but to my surprise found 2 wires were not fully seated. Sad part is that it had been that way for quite some time as the rubber boots were painted tan while loose.... I now have a good used one if someone needs one. Picked up from Eastern on ebay and it was...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

If that is the line going to the brake chamber, they are stock civy items available at any hd store including NAPA. They will also have the DOT air brake certified collar on them. They are very reasonable priced. Some shops can make them out of hose and crimp on fittings but might not carry the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I also did the same thing. You can replace the red lens with a amber lens easily so you are DOT complacent. Tractor supply has the yellow lens or any HD parts as they are common. Front turn signals have to be amber on the front both sides. I really like the extra visibility of the amber lolipops...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Someone makes a real expensive adapter that you can install at the light switch inbetween the harness and the switch or just Y off a clearance light ( not sure if you have any as I have not seen your model in person) or the wire feeding the rear running lights as those are on with the correct...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

They are designed that way. They are not set up like a civy vehichle. It is a very easy mod to do to get them to work that way. I assume you have a m939? Abandon the original wire feeding the turn signal running light from the original harness. Y off the side marker light to the turn signal...

The word that comes to mind is massive. Maybe 12 ft long and 1 1/4 wide from what I remember. You can tow the space shuttle with them. Just the ends must be worth a fortune. I am not sure what i am going to do with them. Got to figure a cool way to mount on my 5 ton.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I also painted and installed a tow strap hook. (Or whatever it's original purpose was.) Both items picked up at the GA rally. That is a armored towing cable foot/shackle. MDSA was selling the cables at the rally. Now I am ready to tow my m1......

I would recommend flushing the coolant overflow tank and the heater core also. You will find brown mud there also. Easy mod is to add a coolant filter. Check out my thread major zippidy or others as many have done so. Nice truck!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

with my spare tire off, I found a lube point I had never done before. It is a pivot for the transfer case linkage on a m939

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Next order of business is hooking up the slave cables to the batteries and figuring out why the horn isn't working. I found the right section in the TM...so it's time to read up and get ready. I'm planning on using the truck to tailgate at the Kansas City Royals home opener on April 6th...

Yes, the a1/2 have different longer bumperettes with a slight angle.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

The fact that you found debris makes it apparent that you really need the missing filter element as the primary means of filtering. Might have more nasties in the tank. That filter is a huge surface area of filtering media and can only help even if there is a spin on filter under the hood. That...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

The filter at napa is a 3401 or wix 33401. It comes with the big and little orings. Normally wix will sell seals seperately but it can be tricky as they might be eachy or envelopes of 10. A counterman would need to look in his illustrated guide to get the part number or just call wix filter hot...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Oops sorry. :-) I did learn that the tank is a great sediment trap since the the hoses are not at the bottom and when I flushed my coolant system, that was the worst place for nasty redish sludge. Unhook the hoses and run a garden hose and I am sure you will probably find some stuff..........

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

The radiator cap is on the coolant bottle isn't it? It will bleed itself I believe, just make sure to monitor the level in the recovery tank.
