    oh. so it could be a stuck/bad compression ring causing crankcase pressure and preventing oil from draining from the head. A compression test would reveal that, but maybe think about running some seafoam and ATF in the crankcase(along with oil, of course) for half an hour under no load, change...

    If you used a quart of oil in 20 minutes of run time, there is definitely something amiss! If it's not leaking out, and your coolant isn't black, then as you deduced, it's most likely in the ring set. Does anyone make an adapter for the glow plug hole to check compression? Justin

    Doh!. That sucks man.... same crap rolled through Central Texas last night. High winds and tons of rain. Like you said, it looks mostly cosmetic although that's pretty close to the radiator fill and overflow tank. Time to buy another one for "parts" :p
