well, that explains a lot. that card must have fallen out of the hole in the side of my shipping box. I was very confused since the instructions said nothing about grease either way. That's why I contacted C&C. Had I seen that warning note, I wouldn't have even thought twice about it.
oh man that sucks. I hope C&C will help get it sorted out for ya.
My box was pretty beat up, but everything was inside. I think C&C needs to use much heavier duty packaging. all the styrofoam peanuts in mine had turned to dust that stuck to everything.
Step 1: remove old hub. 3/4" socket
Step 2: clean mating surface
Step 3: Put in 4x2 setting, remove top cap from hub
Step 4:
Bolt on hub using old bolts/lock washers. Kit includes a gasket, so I did not feel the need for RTV sealant, but that's up to you.
Torque bolts to 85-95 ft lbs...
I just got done replacing all the seals and gaskets/fluids /grease on the front axle.
The hubs include basic directions, but really it's just as simple as un-bolt the old ones and bolt the new ones on.
