Never say done...
Picked up some deuce troop seats and went ahead cut the hardware off and built troop seats today...
Promoted her and put my old battalion logo on the bumper..
I guess you're never "done"....
I bought these accessories from the same guy I bought the field radio Bluetooth speaker from... adds a little pizazz and modern convenience, while maintaing the military look.
First was the dual 3.0 24v USB charger.
I decided this was a great place for it...
The final step today... took my paperwork to the special plates division in Baton Rouge and had her registered as a Historic Military Vehicle. Permanent registration and the VIN painted on her military style as the plates!
A few of the times we played:
Of course, cleaning up...
And the new paint job...
By no means was this a solo effort... from Dennis being patient and explaining things to me, the Mike's with their enthusiasm and encouragement, Jason hating on house paint, Warren coming...
December 18th 2022 is the day I loaded her up from @Csm Davis place and brought her home...
A few pics of her progress in one year
As I found her
Loaded and ready to go...
Working on her
And her first paint job as "Dirty Gerty"
Yesterday was running to Monoe, La to pick up this:
Because I ordered some a few weeks ago and they still hadn't arrived and the tracking only said "moving through network (the parts were supposed to arrive on the 4th), so because I need the truck today and this weekend, I panicked and...
It was a PITA for sure. And I may have to order another set as the paint I used is less than optimal. I have a feeling the first pressure wash and they're going to come off.
Your mask did GREAT though!
Added my rank "Terminal Lance" to make her the true work horse of the military... the lowly E-3 😅😆😁
And an antenna...
And I'm pretty pleased with the results so far..
The wheels are the old color matched tan. They're getting painted today along woth thr pioneer tools, and a little something something is being added today too...
The green is a little bright, I couldn't quite nail the green I wanted, bit I think it looks good.... almost like a truck from the old "Toy soldiers" kits we got as kids, where everything was that same green.. 😁🙄
I did! And I'm not completely done yet, still have some to add, but I was 10 hours into the day and losing light.....
Today I'm going to attempt the rank mask...
