You can also "test lift" it before committing to the lift. Rig it up, pick it up a couple inches and let it hang for a few minutes. That way, if something DOES fail, it isn't catastrophic. -

I was able to lift mine off with 4 people. My girlfriend, her 15 year old son, my 10 year old son and myself, so your hoist should do fine.
