The city tree trimmers shorted a city utilities transformer today, so I was able to confirm that the back-up back-up generator, running on propane, will not start the AC. New start capacitor and soft-start come in friday. Better to find this stuff out now than in a storm.

I got my back-up back-up generator in yesterday. 13kw Durolast, 10kw running. I also ordered a softstart for the AC so I should be covered on running the AC and everything else. Going to go ahead and fill my 100 gallon transfer tanks, one with gasoline and the other with diesel.

It finally occurred to me tonight to stick the pump inlet into a cup of diesel and try to start the generator. Good news is that if fired right off. So that confirms a clogged fuel pickup, but at least I know the rest of it is OK and I could bypass the tank in a pinch if needed. I did also...

I never did anything with the trailer. All that work and I went a different route. It is for sale, though I'm not posting it anywhere. We lost power two weeks ago when that bad series of storms rolled through. Unfortunately, I was out of town and the MEP fuel pump was out, so it wouldn't...

I'm going to go with zinc plated steel rivnuts and grade 8 fasteners. If it becomes a problems years down the road, I'll fix it then. Huck bolts would really be the best option, but that would run me at least $1,000 just to get the gun. I do like the idea of the lug studs, and ATV studs would...

After further searching, these appear to be Huckbolts. I'm not likely to buy the tool needed to install Huckbolts. What is an acceptable method for attaching more aluminum tubing? Stainless or zinc plated rivnuts? Heavy structural blind rivets? I already have a rivnut tool with several...

I got some work done on my gen/trailer yesterday. Swapped the military tires for the 35”s on dodge 2500 wheels. Put the generator and tank in place, to be bolted down later. And got it all cleaned up. Still runs after being neglected sitting directly on the dirt for over a year. Cleaned up...

Picking up a DRASH 23kw trailer only. I can't find anything on the web regarding the trailer, no specs, no TM, nothing. I've gathered from bits and pieces that the wheels and tires are common with the HMMWV and the hydraulic brakes are common to the 1101/1102 trailers. Anyone have any more...

Just let me know when you want to stop by. I’ve got around 50 rivnuts left, you are welcome to use them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I tackled this last night. Soup to nuts, took about 3 hours. My 803 is a 2000 non-reset unit, so most of the nuts are not caged. I went ahead and installed rivnuts, which led to a little extra work that is not necessary to complete the fuel line repair. Here is some of what I did: 1. remove all...

anyone have a link or part number for the correct rivnut/captive nuts to replace the nut/bolts for the top cover?

Power is out again, which allowed me to confirm that the return line is leaking. A steady drip now. Glad that I built in the secondary feed for the backup-backup generator. Picking up hose tomorrow. How much of the 1/8 and 1/4 did you need?

I can confirm that my automatic disconnect does work. I've got materials enough to make 2 more if anyone is interested. We were in the path of hurricane Michael and I just finished running the generator for 100 hours with only one break of 2 hours in the middle. It performed flawlessly, never...

I wired up the relay last night, and there really isn't much to it. No real point in taking a picture of the setup, but here is the wiring diagram in M$ Paint. I verified that it does work to cut out the tender when 24v is supplied to pin 14. I didn't have time to run a wire from the...

I plan to pull the trigger off of pin 3 of the Master Switch, which I think is hot in start and run. The inputs on the relay will be the positive and negative of the battery tender output, the output of the relay will go to the batteries. For convenience, I connected my battery tender output...

I went ahead and ordered a 24v relay and pigtail so the battery tender will automatically disconnect from the batteries. Relay https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KA4F0GE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Pigtail...
