    patrick, when you are in 2nd gear, that gear is locked to the shaft and does not need any oil. 2nd gear seizure is from to high a speed in 5th. none of the gears have needle brngs. you don't slip the clutch, you just engage it quickly with no or almost no throttle. if you cannot do this...

    it is normal for the 2nd gear not to engage when stopped. the syncro dogs are fairly blunt and will not always push their way in. just keep pressure on them and very gently ease the clutch out until you feel them start to go in and then push clutch back in. there is absolutely no reason not to...
