    Oh ya, if you are doing all of that, you will need to go with the 12v alternator. When you said that you wanted to run stuff off 12v, I thought you just meant a few lights, and maybe something like a GPS. Good luck with the install!

    Or you can save yourself a heap of trouble and just install a 24v to 12v converter like I did. That way you can also use it with the truck off, unlike an additional alternator where the truck must always be running to supply 12v power. The one I got is 20amps, but the company makes them up to...
