    How prone to cracking are the main bearing webs when removing the main cap bolts?

    I haven't yet because I'm scared for what I will find. I really cant afford a new block right now or the down time to do anything about it. The engine was running fine before the head cracked but I know that doesn't mean anything.

    How prone to cracking are the main bearing webs when removing the main cap bolts? I have been informed by two machine shops which wont touch my 6.2 for a rebuild that this is a really common problem with the 6.2 I want to check with you guys on this before I pull the bolts to put in new bearings.
