Help! I'm burning up coils in my M43!!

To be honest Mark I'm not sure. It checked we the guy that I bought the truck from and he told me he put the cut in the line to extend the wire when he redid the front wire harness. I decided to put the resistor in the line and I also remove the large plug on the top of the distributor in the...

Help! I'm burning up coils in my M43!!

After reading everything all of you guys had to say I think I've settled on my solution. I checked the volts running through the line going to the coil and I am getting 28 volts. I think this may have been a problem for a while on this truck. The truck was owned by a fire department in Vermont...

Help! I'm burning up coils in my M43!!

How should I go about checking the regulate and generator? The truck has the original 24 volt system and all the wiring is closed. Can I check the output of the regulator by connecting to the wire coming from the on/off switch? Thanks, Jim

Help! I'm burning up coils in my M43!!

I have an original M43 and I have been going through coils like water. At first it only happened if the ignition switch was left on with the engine off. Today I burned up 2 coils while driving the truck to a show. They went while the truck was traveling at 45 MPH. Is it possible that the...
