Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Lol. I know, it's shocking the naysayers haven't started in on me. But this is all about efficiency. The deuce is plenty fast for me. I don't want a higher top speed. And sure, ill tell my insurance company... They have my truck listed as a "Tank" anyway.

Interesting. Is tat the civy version of the multifuel? Any flow numbers on them?

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

I thought the same. But looked at the area and didn't think there would be enough airflow. I looked at what would happen if it were mounted in front of the radiator. It looks like that will work as long as the intercooler radiator is thin enough. Aside from that, I looked at the hummer style...

See my thread on water to air intercooling. I will put up pics of the inside of the intake. It is not able to heat the airline like everyone thinks. There is not a heat exchanger in it. It's a water jacket.

Dog head, I think we talked about that before... I think it's a great idea and have been hemhawing over buying a water to air intercooler for a while now.

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Is the air moving faster or is there just more air moving at the same speed? Remember psi is pounds per square inch. The illusion of filling a balloon doesn't work because you are putting more dense air in each time you increase pressure, meaning you're moving more air, but your not moving it...

But... I haven't done anything. My pigs are as they came from the factory. Bacon.

No one does math outside of work except for weirdos like myself. No one is a bump on a log any more than I was today.

I havent owned a TV in 9 years. I do own books. Read all of them out to sea. Own a deuce.. took it apart... put book information to work on deuce engine. Not too sure what I will come up with. But thanks!

Sorry. Day off work. Had too much coffee.

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Vped, You're exactly right! Time is a very large factor here. But usually disregarded when calculating flow on cylinder heads. Why? Reason being, most engines have different camshaft profiles, rpm limits, etc. To successfully calculate how much the engine flows during an event you need...

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Yup. But I was going on the VE of the engine itself to see if the ports were designed to allow enough air in the first place. Of course, you can exceed 100% VE completely NA (in a certain rpm band) With Helmholtz theory, it's been shown to go as high as 115% NA. But I think that's outside...

Crap. I knew that. 6cfm difference anyway. Drop in the bucket!

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Had my heads off last week and valves out. Looking in the ports, I was curious about the flow on them. Has anyone ever flow benched a head? Also noticed there is a ton of metal there if anyone were to port them... Looked around some other diesel forums out of curiosity to see if porting...
