Changing caster angle solved problems with G-177 tires

Final Verdict: the gringletaube mod in conjunction with a 2 degree caster shim ended up being the magic bullet for my truck. Drives better now than it ever has! Like the post above says though YMMV.

Changing caster angle solved problems with G-177 tires

After much trial and error (and wasted $$$) I also ended up "gringeltaubeing" my spring perches as well. I think I still prefer the way the steering felt with the NDTs, but maybe this is just the nature of the beast and I need to get used to it? Anyways, the wheel returns to center now and...

Changing caster angle solved problems with G-177 tires

Can someone give me the torque value on the U-Bolts for when I go to put it all back together (yes, I'll admit to being too lazy to go rifling through the TMs to find it myself.)

Changing caster angle solved problems with G-177 tires

MikeON's post above, as well as your thread on 'that other forum' convinced me that that is the right thing to do. Planning on working on it today.

Changing caster angle solved problems with G-177 tires

More crazy caster, thanks to G177s Just got ten of 'em put on today. The steering in this truck was nice and tight with the 9.00x20 NDTs. Now it feels like it is all worn out and sloppy. The wheel turns back to center in a very slow and lazy fashion, that is IF you can even get it to do it at...
