    All i know is i drained the GL5 out of my trans and put in 40w motor oil and i no longer have to fight it into first or second gear. If your trany is hard to shift dump the GL5. Synchros work like clutches or brakes. they ether speed up or slow down the gears so they mesh. The friction modifiers...

    I always ignore the manufactures to. They are just dumb to spend all that money on engineering and testing and more engineering and testing to come up with an recommended lube. Every one knows the end user who did not do all the testing and engineering knows better. Yes the other lubes work...
