They aren’t the OEM nozzles for a 5ton, so they are ok.

Finally found it: 0432191629 or 0432191642 fop Ppumped 300hp 6CT.

    progress on injector nozzles

I quit doing injectors over a year ago. The bad thing with the nozzles in a 5 ton, is the size. They are too big, and dont atomize well at all. What I did find, is using some injectors from a newer 300hp 6CT, then playing around with the fuel rate will give a mild increase. Yet it'll burn much...

Go for it! Make sure the turbo stays under 40psi, and EGT in check. I would daily drive that!

I wouldn't start at the max, unless you're empty all the time. I highly suggest you ease in to all that fuel. Start with it close to stock setting on the nuts, and work from there.

These pumps don't have a fuel plate. The nuts on the back are the equivalent of sliding a plate forward. The gov springs are covered in that long thread "who has bumped up the power". You can tighten the stock ones, add washer shims, or get a Dodge gov spring set. The 3k kit will let it rev to...

you should be clear sailing. Watch the pyro during hard pulls, but I doubt it'll get all that hot.

It would shred everything in the drive train.

Just an approximation, 600hp. You would have to use the HX50 as the small turbo in a compound setup, and an HT4B sized bottom turbo.

A Ppump can certainly get it well over 400hp, even 600hp isnt too hard. The thing the 8.3 has going for it is the rpm range. The 8V92 is more of a novelty engine these days. Sure, an ISX will make 500hp more efficiently, it cant spin much past 2300. These can go to 4500....not that you should...

    progress on injector nozzles

To a mechanic that's a "it must be to factory spec" kind of guy, all of what I do is taboo. I'm sure he would flip out about these nozzles. Can't say that there is no way it will work with the Ppump plungers...There's always a way. Swapping to a Ppump is still Cummins spec, basically motor...

    progress on injector nozzles

Send me your injectors or some cores. I only have bodies for a Ppump. I rebuild em, put on the new nozzles, and balance the pop pressure. On a side note; I also have a junk MW pump coming my way. I'll be working with a buddy I grew up with that's a precision machinist. We are going to see if we...

    progress on injector nozzles

I got the new nozzles in. They are a 5X.0157". I also got some that are 5X.015, where the stock ones are a 4X.011". They have the better spray angle to keep the spray off the cylinder walls. I think I'll be selling the first set in the next week or 2, so we will see the results pretty soon. He's...

I have the nozzles ordered, and should be here in a couple more days.

The MW can make that kind of power, just not as easily as the Ppump. The MW would need the fuel nuts removed, and run the 480 injectors. The Ppump with the 420s will burn cleaner(less haze).

A truck used for mud racing, or primary uses in high load/high rpm. Oly, that's plenty close. We should set something up after this weekend

    progress on injector nozzles

Swapping to a Ppump will throw all these power numbers off by a lot. They would be the actual 300,420, and 480hp(with supporting air mods). Huge gains in power to snap every drive train component. Honing the stock nozzle is not that great because of the 4 hole spray. They just don't atomize...

    progress on injector nozzles

I've been digging in to different nozzles, and injector settings(pop pressures) to get these engines to perform and keep EGT down. The ones I have found are not a direct bolt in. All the good ones went in the Ppump equipped engines. The solution lately has been to buy a whole injector, and swap...
