Looks like it may have been driven a short distance without oil!
If it were mine, I would grumble a lot and check transfer case and trans for metal.
I am cheap, so I would be saving the oil and reinstalling it if it came out clean.
Until it is installed, Suggest you protect the exposed slip yoke polished surface with cardboard or similar to prevent any scratches or nicks. Don't want to get a dripper because of damaged seal surface.
Blower wheel looks clean, like it was barely used. I would lube the motor bearings and wire her up.
Judging by the amount of rust, interior has been very damp or maybe wet.
