You DO NOT want to do a Transmission conversion and put in a 4L60 trans (700R4)... Trust me when I say you will be satisfied with the 4L80E. Everything about this designation is above where you would ever be...in other words the torque capacity is so much higher then anything else out...

Warhorse, thank you for the correction on the 4L80E swap for Joe...if you've never done the conversion..it will not be as easy as "1,2,3"...however, after the first one is done successfully you will feel like you can do anything on the HMMWV...I think a lot of the other folks would agree...
