    Patracy's "SEMTT"

I made one out of a M105 bed. But I didn't like how it turned out. Never did anymore with it for that aspect. I've got a trailer for it now so I doubt I will. I would still like a "wrecker module" though.

The one from your project truck? I seem to recall it had a special 5th wheel? Not really room to mount a winch back there and still pull van trailers. (I don't have one anymore, but I'd like to keep the ability)

    No I never did.

I used a pair of 2 way electric solenoid valves to replace the manual valve. Vent line? There's only a supply and return line on my setup? The vent lines are plumbed to the intake stack vent.

Well, I could easily unplug it and let it vent. But my CRD has the crankcase vent plumbed in this fashion as well. But I totally agree, a piston ring failure would cause problems. I drove about 50-60 miles over the weekend up hills and all sorts of angles. I haven't popped the filter, but I...

Been meaning to post this, but I've forgot for a few weeks with all the 114 stuff. This is after a few drives, at highway speed as well. Not a drop.

I have another idea if I start seeing oil somehow climb a foot and half up top of the valve covers. I'll make a "catch can" and plumb it before the bulkhead. But honestly I only saw a drip of oil from the tube since the turbo. FWIW, this is the same crankcase vent routing as many cummins have...

Here's a pic of how it was routed stock. As you can now see from my earlier description, it's got a lot lot longer path to follow now! The red box shows the stock line where it was plumbed into the intake horn.

NHC-250's were plumbed into the intake horn of the engine stock. Except now the path has to go up out of the valve covers, up a hose, into the filter housing, back over a 2" rise, then down the intake tubing, make a 90*, go a foot, make a 30* turn, go another foot, make a 90*, go a few inches...

Got in a hurry and forgot to attach the pics! :patracy: Also, this is for Chris and my friends that knew about my last mishap with a grinder. Just in case any bits or creatures decided to sneak into the engine while I worked...

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

Finally had a little clearer weather today so I've tinkered a bit more. Carrying on with the "speed improvements", I decided to improve two things. The air filter housing and the fact the crankcase vent was just dumping to the environment. Not for emissions reasons, but I know any engine can...

So I've updated the transmission thread. But things seem to be on the upward swing now. So back to the turbo! WOW! There's a hill going to town that I normally have to downshift to go up it. While I did slow down to ~45mph, I stayed in 5th gear going up it! So should it still be a "S"EMTT?

That pic is only through the PVS-14, would need to see the rectile if it was setup as a co-witness on something for bad things to follow.

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

Well the SEMTT has been giving me a little bit of trouble lately. The battery equalizer bit the dust and I fragged the batteries. Got a Pyle voltage converter to just handle it that way. Got all that wired up and the batteries swapped. Well I was trying to flush out the radiator and ended up...

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

I ummm, was one of the "cool kids" I guess. But it got old. FAST. I know it's boring to only have a 4" exhaust with a muffler on a turbo'ed truck. But with where the cab is, it's very pleasant in the cab on the highway. I guess I'm getting old and no longer one of the cool kids.

I went for a drive but noted that it was defueling at about 1950rpm. I mean fall on your face defueling. Even rolling down the hill it was defueling. Came back home and noticed a retainer/shim on the ground I must have dropped! While on the road and driving, I saw almost the same EGTs...

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

After my jog this AM, I decided to change the buttons. I figured out why this thing has no problem free reving to 2400+ rpm. There's gotta be nearly a 1/4" of shims stacked in it. But the more interesting thing is, I don't have a 27 button like most. I have a 30 in it stock! So it's now a...

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

Went to see Wreckerman today and picked up two more locked axles. (I have 3 total now) That's going to be a job to swap in. I did drive the SEMTT around yesterday a bit. Everything seems to be doing well. EGTs are 900F under WOT in 5th no load. Tomorrow I'm going to drive it around a bit...

If you removed a substantial number, yes. But I'm talking about the top overload spring, and a few of the bottom leaves that are really there more for spacing.

I still gotta play around with the buttons to see where I wanna get it at for power. I also need to run through the injectors and valves for good measure. Once the bags are done, I'll tinker with the AC. Then touch up the paint on the crane. Then I think it'll be done.
