This is one "issue" that arises. Further splintering. The other one is the arguments/debates about what belongs where.
Now on the absolute flip side of this, I deal with new users daily that either have no clue how to start a thread, find the appropriate forum...
I will consider creating a new section. But I just am reluctant due to the history behind the CUCV/Deuce/5 ton sub forums. It always turns into people complaining about things not being where they're supposed to be.
I could grant moderator access to people that have offered for this new area.
I wouldn't be opposed to creating another forum. But historically this always ends up being more complaints once it's happened. (Hot rod forums for example. We created them, then it turns into argument/debate on what belongs where.) Also it'd be nice to have someone experienced in moderation...
Thinking it through, there's less to move if it's other auxiliary equipment that goes into a subforum. I mean this with no disrespect, but to dive into moving all this stuff, we'd need someone versed in moderation/forums.
We've also had this come up under the 5 ton section. People want the M939's broken out from the M809's, and the M39's, exc. That's what seems to happen for all the sections.
Because of the havoc it causes. Links to threads being invalidated, rights issues on the forum to be added, the mountain of work to make something that on the outside seems simple. I'm considering it, but for it to happen will require someone to help in the matter. (Who knows forums...
I can spin up a sub-forum(s) under the aux section. But just like you pointed out. Finding the content and separating them is the problem. I have no magic wand to wave to move the specific content into the appropriate forums. It would be a completely manual process to sort through the aux...
