    Did you do a axle swap from a pick-up ? From the wiki M1009 has a 3.08 gear ratio. The M1009 has Corporate 10 bolt axles front and rear with 3.08 gear ratio and a Gov-Lok in the rear. The front axle is open.

    So you figure going from a 140 hp 6.2 to a 55 hp john deere motor is going to help ? If you have a M1009 you have a K5 not a K30. It would probably be a good idea to post a picture so we can tell you what CUCV you have . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Diesel_V8_engine Max RPMs: 3,600 rpm
