    CDL required to drive 5 ton?

    California non commercial liscenses are for RV's. The real issue is if you are driving out of class the LEO can and will have your vehicle towed and impounded. Arguing with a LEO is a recipe for getting a ticket. The cost for the tow and impound could be as much as school to get your CDL.
