    4 speed trans conversion

I have found some, just the sellers can't tell me much about them but the part numbers. So any info to identify the ones I need is greatly appreciated or a site to run the part numbers

Yes came out of a Humvee. I was told you need the driveshafts that go along with the 4L80E from the humvee but all I can keep finding is 3 speed ones. Or just ones with part numbers and I don't know how to check the numbers to see exactly what they fit.

    4 speed trans conversion

Nope not getting overwhelmed, just been on a 500 mile road trip today to pick up a trailer for the old man. Just finally getting home and on the computer. I have a 4L80E lined up to buy to put in it this winter. Just need to line up a shifter & drive shafts for it. If anyone has a good lead...

    4 speed trans conversion

After all that I have been told, I don't plan on towing anything except my 17' bass boat that weights maybe 1,800 lbs. And when I go off roading, I will pull the hmmwv with my 1967 Jeep Kaiser the 20 miles round trip. It's crazy to think that they wouldn't have made these to be able to tow a...

Yes I think I would be doing a NP242 with it as I am looking at a trans that comes with the 242 already. Is the 242 a better one?

    4 speed trans conversion

I will do a lot of research and part searching before I proceed with this swap this winter. Are there any upgrade kits out there for the trans or torque converter made more for pulling heavy items? If anyone can copy & paste links to some good write ups on this swap, I would greatly...

    4 speed trans conversion

Which crossmember is it replaced with? And I didn't think it was as easy as 1 2 3, from everything I have been reading up on it. As for the driveshafts, are there some that work or do some need to be made? I am thinking this will be a conversion I want to do this winter, so any help is great

    4 speed trans conversion

Thanks Bob. I was told the cross member needed to be moved back some also for the 4L80E and possibly a different transfer case? Will send you a pm

    4 speed trans conversion

Hi guys, I purchased a 1986 HMMWV M998 A0. It has a rebuilt detuned 6.5 in it already and still has the 3 speed trans. I am wanting to update it to a 4 speed trans and leaning towards a mechanical non computerized 4 speed. I was wondering if anyone has done this and has any pointers for...
