What Did These Split Rivits Hold?

Reassembly Beginning assembly and since I have no reference I am wondering how the fender welting goes in. Looks like the piece on the fender is one way and the engine compartment filler plate it goes another. In other words, one is upside down from the other. Also, where does one end and the...

What Did These Split Rivits Hold?

A Few Pictures of The Retainers $5 a box of 25. Picture of old rivet and new retainer. Head is the same diameter and the shaft fits the holes as stock.

What Did These Split Rivits Hold?

What Did These Split Rivits Hold?

Now I wonder what that looked like. There is none there now and nothing in the parts "exploded" views. So a strip from the rear of the fender to the rear splash pan I guess to keep water out. Probably did not last too long down there. Not sure what I will do when I put it all back together.

What Did These Split Rivits Hold?

Took the front end apart yesterday as part of the restoration. The fenders and pans will be media blasted, as well as all the rest of the truck. On the fenders at the rear splash pans is a row of split rivets holding nothing. Must have been a weather strip in there at one time? You can see them...
