What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

thanks. none of my trucks ever had the jack or handle so I am not sure how I got these parts, probably laying under the seat or out of the glove box. That finger nail clipper works pretty good for cutting zip ties. thanks Rich

I was moving my parts collection today, going through and re-boxing items so I could get the barn cleaned up and I found these items and cannot remember what they are for. Can anyone identify this part. I have two of them.

I have the TSM transfer case brake on my 1009 and it does not work very well. It is tough to get the adjustment right and the assembly rattles pretty bad. I think I will change to the duel calipers like you have sugested in the near future.

I do not know the thread size but it is not the best location to install a sensor. in this location it is reading the temp coming directly from the radiator to the engine instead of the water leaving the engine.

get the turn signals from the later grill set up where the turn signal is behind the grill beside the headlight. LMC has them I believe it is the grill with two headlights on each side.

for those who want to preserve things I have found that the new wd40 sticky formula works very well. I have my 6.2 that I pulled sprayed down with this stuff and so far (almost a year) it looks the same, no additional rust and I live close to Galveston where everything rust overnight.

pvc tire inserts I have same Hutchinson bead locks, great wheels. Ike, do yourself a favor and make you some pvc inserts for those wheels, they balance a lot better. The Hutchinson inserts are crap and will come apart inside tire if the edge gets cut. I had one come apart in one of mine...

I changed all my marker lights to led except the two front ones under the headlights. leaving a couple standard bulbs in the system allows the stock flasher to work. yes the flasher is easy to change and cheap. my next round of working on the lights I plan to upgrade the flasher and the last...

you need to set up your pics better. I would have hid the log splitter and put an axe out in front on display. it is an impressive pile of wood, and would be an incredible pile of wood if split with an axe. It is going to freezing this week in Houston area so you better lock that wood pile...

I have not seen one with a return on the back next to output when there is remote resevoir, the return normally goes to the tank on top when there is a remote reservoir. I am curious to what vehicle it is from. I am thinking a van.

is that the hose just looped back to the pump? looks like two hoses coming out of the back of the pump, that may just be the other end of the hose I am looking at. The pic looks like there are two high pressure lines coming out of back of pump. may not be the case.

It is a remote reservoir pump, problem with using it is getting the hose out the back of the bracket. otherwise the hose has to come through the alternator belt. I am pretty shure the brackets are the same however I do not believe the small back one works as shown in the picture, it has another...

forgot to add, get the dual filtration kit if you can. that is what I had on my duramax and plan to add to my 1009. it has a regular filter and a 5 micron filter. you change the 5 micron every other change. That was what worked for me.
