    I've seen the various pieces of those for sale on eBay, and seriously considered that... but they always seemed pretty pricey. If I recall, the last time I saw them they were asking $100 for each of the side sections, minus the tire mount and the parts that attach to the bed.

    There are nylon washers between the rack and the bed (on the top) and between the steel washers and the bed (on the bottom) to reduce galvanic corrosion. I really cranked down on it, so they're pretty compressed and don't seem to have much "give" when attempting to rock the carrier back to front...

    Here you go... The frame runs from just inside the tailgate to just behind the four-man top tie-downs and from as tight against the driver's side as it would fit to about a foot from the passenger side of the bed. I was trying to maximize to footprint of the mount to reduce the leverage...

    It definitely wouldn't--at least not without touching. The tire is about 4" off the bed and a few inches above the four-man top. It's possible I could get the short/wagon cover over it... but the tire would make a bulge in the top. Since I plan on sticking with the four-man, it's not an issue...
