Dually conversion done simple on the cheap.

If I could find one for a reasonable price I would buy it. The major difference between the Dana 80 and the Dana 70HD is the Dana 80 uses disc brakes and the Dana 70HD uses drums. They are the same weight and strength. Some get confused when comparing the 70 to the 80 but they forget the "Dana...

At this point does it matter ? If you can buy it cheap enough gears can be easily changed, and lockers added if you think you really need them.

You cannot even give away a car to your own brother without paying taxes on it ! I gave my brother our old 1999 Honda Civic since his old car has over 470,000 miles on it ! That's right almost half a million miles ! The old thing is barely holding together though, so they desperately needed a...

One thing you didn't mention about the Dana 70HD was it's larger carrier bearings and 35 spline shafts. They are larger then any 14...

One last thought before you jump on the 14 bolt bandwagon. The Corporate 14 bolt has a tube diameter of 3.25" and a GAWR of 8,600 Ibs. The Dana 70HD has a tube diameter of 4.00" and a GAWR of 10,000 Ibs. It is far superior in strength and handling due to the wider stance and if your going to be...

The proper dually axle for the CUCV is a Dana 70HD. That axle commands a pretty penny in todays market since all the hardcore 4X4 guys want them. I actually had a guy come up to me at the gas station and ask to buy my rear differential for $1200.00 ! I gave him the "are you crazy look" and said...
