The author says to remove the vent line and discard it. My guess is on his deuce, it wasn't interconnected with anything.
The 1/8th outlet on the master cylinder cap gets a 90 degree NPT fitting, then a hose attaches to it which runs to your new remote reservoir.

Some of the kits I've seen include a cap for the vent tube. From what I can gather, the master cylinder vent line can terminate in a couple of different places. One of which could be the fuel vent line (which is bad.)
I intend to remove mine from wherever it terminates if I can get to it...
