Rebuilding air compressor on M923A2 rebuild kit information

Nothing on top of the transmission has air except the 2 lines that go from both tanks to the foot pedal. They can leak thru themselves. I have seen them leak right thru the cotton jacket in the form of a million soap bubbles right on the line. The hydraulic hose underneath cracks and you cant...

Rebuilding air compressor on M923A2 rebuild kit information

Also which line on the t case switch was leaking. You should only have air on one of them. If it's on both of them this could be the sign of a pressurized transfer case where air is getting by the interlock solenoid on top and going into the case and then back up the switch line. It's...

Rebuilding air compressor on M923A2 rebuild kit information

Do you have a air compressor there? You need to pressurize it and leave the truck turned off. You will find stuff easier Or bring it up to pressure and turn it off. You are only searching for leaks on the lines that should be yellow. That is the pressure protection side. Does your...

Rebuilding air compressor on M923A2 rebuild kit information

The line from the governor to the unloader. Should pressurize at 120 to 125 or whatever your governor is set at to purge the air dryer. This sends pressure to the unloader for it to disengage the compressor. It maintains the pressure to the unloader until the cut in pressure is reached then it...

Rebuilding air compressor on M923A2 rebuild kit information

Does the compressor continue to stay on when you remove the unloader signal line ? Do you have air going to the compressor on that line when the governor hits the blow off pressure?

Rebuilding air compressor on M923A2 rebuild kit information

Emergency overpressure valve. There is one on the top of the fitting on the line going into the wet tank as well. Is your check valve good on the secondary tank? It can have a weak spring and leak air back across. Usually it tends to creek if it is doing this. Might need to put something...

Rebuilding air compressor on M923A2 rebuild kit information

Q2 valve should not bleed off unless the brake pedal is pushed. It does not receive air until you push the pedal.

Rebuilding air compressor on M923A2 rebuild kit information

How do you know it is the Q2 valve? Just cause it is dumping air out of the intake stack does not necessarily mean it is a Q2 valve.. likely candidate but a blown service brake diaphragm will do the same thing. Q2 valve simple check is to remove the white line going to it on the bottom port...

Rebuilding air compressor on M923A2 rebuild kit information

Your air dryer has a check valve in it to prevent back feed to the compressor. The purest air dryers I know for sure have it in them. If your tanks are reading the correct pressure then you should not be cycling often. Did you see if it continues after you remove the line off the compressor?

The unloader kit for that compressor is 3559545K and is available thru my local truckpro and truck parts specialist. Memphis equipment also stocks em. As far as compressors go. It is around $450 and stocked in a few warehouses around the country. Houston,Chicago,Atlanta,Denver to name a few...
