Well that was fun. Had a driveline yoke weld fail. Apparently they didnt know how to weld to tie it all in. Was doing around 60 in Little Rock when it let go. Took out the exhaust, rear wire harness. Between tandem driveshaft, main driveline. Few air lines and a relay valve, and a...
Well. She has been running for a minute now. Logged 4000 miles a few weeks back as far north as cincy. Far south as Miami. Then a nice Little 2000 mi run a week or two ago. Was dealing with more transmission issues but i hope those are gone now.
Seeing steady boost #'s in the 30 to...
Should be running again on Wednesday. Replaced the rings on 2 cylinders, they were mismatched rings from the piston that I did not like the quality of. Replaced the heads with some new BC IV. They were a good deal for $250 each with free shipping for reman heads. Well worth it. Replaced the...
Well, she's together and back in. Cab goes back on tomorrow after a few modifications are done to it. Shes atleast clean. Probably used 300 gallons of water, 5 gallons of simple green, and 10 gallons of diesel in the steam cleaner to get her that pretty.
Dropped the fuel button to a #5 but...
welp. Most of the final pieces showed up today. Should be able to get it all together and perhaps back running this weekend. I went with a set of injectors with a slight more pressure to get some wear and tear off the camshaft. I went with a 222 to 224 flow rate that were built by Premco in...
N14 crossheads will not fit an 855. The crossheads have different size holes on each end rather than the same on both size. The larger hole goes to the exhaust side. Same spacing though just one end will not fit on top of the valve.
CPL # 442. Came from an old cruiseliner. KTA's are pricey but no different than a kitty cat.
Big cams are cheap really. I did well on a kit for 1150 shipped and 450 for a set of built injectors with a 00 button to go with it. Injectors were built by Premco down in Texas.
With the KTA is...
I have a long set of feeler gauges that work fine.
She may not get the BCIII put back in her.....just trying to figure out where i am gonna put all 19 liters at.
Got it to Profo's late last night. Started on it about 9 this morning on and off thru the heat. He's camping so it's an alone job for now. Cab pulled. Engine and transmission out. Engine taken apart liners pulled.
Ended up steam cleaning the block really good. It needed it since I will...
Ok let's not go with that then and Well it was approx 160hrs after the tune up with around 100hrs of it being work time. Figured something would have happened before then. Every manual I have seen says the injectors tighten to 1/4 screw turn past finger tight for the IBC method.
Sell explanation of what happens when it drops a valve in route to Ft. Polk. In frame time. Should be in on Monday. Going to go down remove the unit and take it to Profos shop since he wont be home and get it all done. Looking at maybe some other tweaks. Engine has standard bearings and...
I went according to the manual with the guide studs and torque sequence. Flywheel runout is within spec at all.
Flywheel housing broke due to the motor shifting and you can see in the picture the rear ear of the transmission mount is into the bellhousing bracket putting pressure on it. It dug a...
Everything had been fine since i did the CAT 7155 swap as well as the Big Cam swap at first. The truck actually ran fine. I ended up busting the good one cat transmission i was running by accident when I tightened the rear clutch up. I had a vibration issue on that when I put the big cam in I...
