Simp's 870s Restoration thread
Had a few hours today to strip one of them. Boards, air lines, wire harness, air system basically. Getting it ready for sandblasting and priming. Will flip it on its side for that probably. Going to use a water sand blast setup. Just gotta blast it and prime it In sections. -

Went searching for M1000 wheels today in the back 40, Found a few. Least its winter time and i can find stuff. Michelin 215s are mostly junk. They use the 8.75" budd circle 10 lug like the 870A0s do. This is different than the 10 lug budd on a truck. Priced some synergy 235 75 17.5 in 18ply for... -

Picked up a couple of first generation 870s built by load king. They are 403LFs with longer necks basically. One needs some rust removal. Total brake overhaul and air system. Basically since it's been sitting for 6 or 7yrs. No telling how long it sat at RRAD before that. 10R15 tube types so...
