    M925A2 transmission overheating

Just remember the MT654 In an A2 truck is different from an A1 truck. Different torque converter ratio and front pump is different

    M925A2 transmission overheating

The MT654 is the same length as most 10 speeds etc. You would have to move the whole engine and transmission backwards to get direct shifter thru the floor. Just have to rig up some linkages like the old cab overs had. Transfer cases in the truck are offset to the passengers side so you...

    M925A2 transmission overheating

Might be a little harder to do a manual on an A2 truck cause the transmission sits about 15inches further forward than on an A1 Truck. You can use the WABCO air assisted clutch slave to make the clutch linkage alot easier. Since it's just hydraulic with air assist. The shifter. I dunno...

    M925A2 transmission overheating

I was referring that the MD3060 comes behind the 8.3s. Those motors found in the A2s. So it would be easier to find one to match that as they didn't put them behind NHC250s in any application.

    M925A2 transmission overheating

There is no direct replacement that is better. Upgraded automatic would be a WTEC 2 MD3060. These are found behind 8.3s that come in the A2s. They are found in M1117 ASVs in the military in that combo. You could put It behind an NHC250 if needed. A manual with a 10 or 13spd like @Crf450x...

    M925A2 transmission overheating

The 654s are a typical medium class transmission for their day. They are junk by today's standards. They also don't last long when worked hard.

    M925A2 transmission overheating

Your oil cooler is only 60psi. Transmission should be atleast 150psi at idle. Upwards of 300 running @Swamp Donkey has the complete manual Maybe he can tell us the correct spec So maybe a 600psi fluid filled gauge. They are cheap from a hydraulic store. Just rig it to a hydraulic hose to...

    M925A2 transmission overheating

I am referring to the transmission pump pressure if it is now flowing enough fluid to keep the transmission cool while its running then it is going to overheat Look at your filter head it may have a spot for a port in either the lines or the head itself. A truck I currently am working on had a...

    M925A2 transmission overheating

Turbo shouldn't make any whistling or spooling with no load on the engine. I.e. in neutral revving it up. Atleast not very loud anyway. You are looking for excess metal, o ring rubber. Anything odd. When the transmission Temps gets high and quits pulling. When you pull off and put it into...

    M925A2 transmission overheating

Do you have the old filter if you changed the spin on? If so cut it open and see what is inside The gauge sending unit is on the fluid return from the heat exchanger. Just cause you put 300miles on it doesn't mean anything. These transmissions go out on a whim, either losing reverse or 3rd...
