the older trucks had a drag link with an end on it and an adjustable rod end on the other end. When mine failed I replaced it with a nos unit found on e-bay. I would love to find a commercial replacement for both that use a greasable end rather than the non serviceable that merritor supplied s&s
if you take one to napa they should be able to take some measurements to get you the right one. At one time I had the part numbers but have since lost them napa did have them available in warehouses in the lower 48.
