Things are confused. My comment had nothing to do with the 800 family. Guess I screwed up. The starter I sent was 24 volt for what I recalled was a civ generartor. Looking over 2 month old e-mails, it was an old Mil generator but he didn't know the model #, only the part # off the starter...

Yes it was 24 volt. Not sure of the generator but asked in advance.

Jerry, I sold a 002 to a neighbor and it has a hard time starting his 3 ton heat pump. He has an all electric house and has to run basics only if he wants the heat pump or ac. Maybe candidate for a hard start kit. To me, the generator is only for basics during a power outage. I am...

Thanks David. My 002A would likely do the same. Just have never tried it. I apply load on mine to exercise them with a load bank I built. Guess I should fire up one of the heat pumps next test time so I can be more specific with customers who ask if 002a will run a heat pump. That is why...

David, Would that kit make a unit on a 30 amp circuit, which draws say 27 amps start current and has no issues, feasible to start with an 002a without turning all minor loads (lights) off? Any feel for the reduction in start load? Jerry

ETN550, A couple years ago there was a thread on hard starting AC units and a capacitor was suggested for the older units. You might search on that and find some relief for your 802. Jerry

Rap, You have the same setup I have. (003a and 002a) I'm also going to be watching for a year or two while the future military force structure is sorted out. It will take a while for the excess items to filter to auction availability. Jerry
