    DOT 5 & Seals

    First, there should be a 3x5 inch (approx) yellow label near the door for the master cylinder that says DOT5 only. Take your finger, and dip it into the master cylinder sump, and then dip your finger into a glass of water. If it is DOT 3, the slippery feeling of the fluid will simply vanish...

    DOT 5 & Seals

    Taking it apart, cleaning it and then refilling with DOT 5 is the best way. Because the DOT 3 is heavier, it would be very hard to convince all of the DOT 3t to leave the system through the air bleeder screws, which are mounted at the top of the wheel cylinders. -Chuck
