maybe john deere makes a deuce that has a thermostat that blocks the coolant flow like the one in greenjeepsters video:cookoo:the rest of us have deuces that the thermostat bypasses. i seen a block heater on a gas engine from the factory once .he said he bought it brand new in alaska funny it...
i have nothing else to add to block heater threads they seem to be counter productive anymore. if anyone has questions about how my block heater is working for me they can pm me i will be glad to answer any questions they have .thanks you guys have a great night:nothingfunny:
wldrbob. You better watch it you didnt use proper puntuation on capitize either some might not read what you wrote .Then later they will be asking stupid questions that you have already answered .Like they dont know how to read or something .If things are properly sized for the circuit fire...
Sorry you have a hard time reading dug you should have that looked at.I guess you haven't been reading the other posts that don't have proper puntuation to or you are just limited mentally and want to see what you want to see. I can't help you with that.Greenjeepster the only reason you would...
people can break anything. do what works for you .pipe plugs are easy to get out .if you have a heater hose fitting that is corroded to the point where it is gonna break off it probably needed changed either way so you dont end up with a leak . any block heater will work the same wether screw...
the temp at the rad doesnt show heat loose it show the lack of heat going to the rad as the rad is not getting coolant flow to it because the thermostat bypasses the rad until it is open. it forces coolant to go from the waterpump through the tube that goes to the driver side of the block then...
does anyone read the posts or do they just say things to say them . greenjeepster i have my block heater in the 3/4inch hole just above the water pump it fits and works great no need to move the heater hose no need to guess .and furthermore the thermostat blocks coolant from going to the rad...
people will bad mouth anything anyone build thats no reason not to build it or sell it .someone that doesnt understand how something works or hasnt tried it doesnt hold alot of weight in my book and in most peoples eyes .they do work and work very nicely .not knowing how something works doesnt...
there is a drian on the oil cooler on my engine i'm not sure it is 3/4 inch .it looked more like 1/2 to me when i was up there taking temps yesterday.and even if it is 3/4 inch you still need around 3 inches straight in without anything in the way .i dont know that it is like that in that location
putting it anywhere in the coolant is gonna be fine .putting it in the oil cooler housing would probably do a better job heating the oil as well as still heating the coolant .as the hot spot from the heater would be closer to the oil ..i had not thought of putting it there but i like having it...
i have been working on cars for over 20 yrs and i have not seen one single vehicle that doesnt bypass the thermostat.some have bleed holes in the t star itself some have bypass hoses some use the heater hoses but all are bypassed.why becuase the water pump has to be able to move water at all...
oh also inside temps of engine parts will be the same as the coolant temp which would have to be around 95-100 to get outside readings that high.it is no wonder my truck starts faster at 0 with the block heater than it does at 70 with out it. the internal parts are warmer with the block heater...
ok here are the temps
outside air=35 ground temp =30 front diff =29.5
my heater is in the hole just above the water pump temp at heater =132

middle of intake=85
back of intake =79
tube near oil cooler=45
water pump=42
rad =46
center of block =50

it's not about you or me being wrong or being proved wrong it's about getting the correct info out there so the ss members can make a properly informed decision on which type is best for them and they way they use their truck.if anyone has a pic of the back of a water pump housing showing no...
any intellegent person or company made retractions or recalls when they are wrong .auto manufactures do it all the time it is done in the better interest of the general population . not to point blame at the engineer that slipped up . we are all human and all make mistakes .we also have the...
