Should....the 16.5 bolster wheels fit.
Note that the mounting face is not against the drum. I'll look for a photo. Sorry, this is an M35 hub but the M105 is similar, so the drum really isn't much of an issue except a really deep back space like the little budd above.
Pictures were before it was completed. I added a frame member to that joint, 1/2" by 3" x 24" CR flat on the underside (on edge), tying the A to the outer tube frame that mounts the axles... so is more than only the butt joint.
I had added that part and a couple of cross members tacked in and...
I'll have the U-bolt when I take mine apart but I need the shackles, springs and mounts for my A3. I was just going to cut it as unthreading looks like a PITA.
Yea, I understand about removing all the brakes. You may have to to get it home.
That is a lot of trailer, even empty for an Xterra
Do you have the Isuzu wheels and tires available that you propose (using single)? I've been advertising, wanting bolster wheels and tires and could...
Would you mind measuring one of them please from the face to the tire outside. I'm wanting to know if they would work dual on a 105 as an alternative to being over-width with the 9.00's pictured above. I didn't know they were the right 6 lug pattern and in reading many posts have not seen them...
If you use the duals, they will end up about the same as the ones above...over width. We could compare the rims from the mount face to the outside of the tire and know for sure. I just measured my overall width yesterday (again). If you are 1.5" less, you may have it made re legal width...
They say the 16.5 bolster wheels (also M1061) will fit, but I have not tried it yet. Maybe the 16" Isuzu will fit without removing the drums. Please let us know (pictures).
I'm working on the possibility to use M35A3 wheels and 14.5 tires on a 105. It would appear to work with the dish in...
You would have to find one that is the exact width for the wheel face and the spring center line. Doing that may allow you to break the spring pack apart and remove some of the springs too.
I don't think there is room between the frame and first spring to make it under-slung. That axle is about 5" dia. I believe.
Take a look at the tires and wheels on a M1061 trailer. They are lower profile and appear to have the same bolt pattern.
What is your pull vehicle, military at 50...
Do you mean making it under-slung? I think the tires could hit the wheel wells. Now if they were tires from an M1061 trailer, that might work.
Here is the rest of my 105 where I dueled it up and made it longer.
