    Here is the L that I'm using to reinforce the deuce frame. It's 11" x3"x10' X1/4". Some version of it could be used in the high stress area from the hinge to the cylinder push point on the bed. Cost for steel and forming $200.

    I bet you see that a bed that large could be overloaded. I can put the 929 to the limit and you have nearly 4' on me.

    "Highest point"... to the bed plate??? Now's the time when a rotisserie turner would be nice, working overhead is a PITA.

    Do the channel frame members, with the additional height, just set on top of the lift.... so you don't have to make a pocket?

    On the picture with the lift, is your lifting points toward the rear like it is sitting in that photo or towards the cab? Photo shows a single, appears about 4-5".
