    Some brake questions

Thanks Rusty...was wondering since the design value on the 5/16" is at 1800#. Burst is plenty high so it should not be an issue.

    Some brake questions

Does anyone happen to know the pressure in our brake systems?

    Some brake questions

Yep, you're right. I just went and measured to confirm it.

    Some brake questions

What size lines are you using? Since I'm a 4x4, a 50-50 system and am 1 1/2" piston, I want to keep the size large, at least until it splits to each wheel. I'm looking at 1/4" going to 3/16".

    Some brake questions

I like what JEGS says about the copper nickel lines; "They are strong as steel, rust proof and easier to work with than any brake line on the market." That sounds good to me...will be my choice as I redo mine.

    Some brake questions

Here is an interesting discussion about polymer coated lines from Napa. Even green available, I think. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/polymer-coated-brake-lines.294579/

    Some brake questions

I have 6 of these cylinders new old stock that have the wrong pistons. They have a flat piston, not one with a V. If anyone has some old wheel cylinders that we could recover pistons, please PM me. I've put them in the classified since I'm going to use the 1 1/2" size on my A3 4x4 but I...

    Some brake questions

While you don't seem to be replacing steel lines, there is a bit of debate about using spring wound lines. What happens there, is that the spring holds debris and then moisture, rusting them faster than plain steel. Thus if you have to replace some steel lines...just use plain steel, not...

    Some brake questions

Are you parked with the truck until it's repaired? Go ahead and take yours apart and see the condition of the components before you buy anything. I have to admit liking having a fully reconditioned and personally inspected NOS to go in it's place, but simply benching yours to re-seal seems a...

    Some brake questions

I thought I had 6 complete wheel cylinders from GL and after taking them apart, found issues. I know a NOS unit sounds like it's a ready to go unit (and the unit pictured does look nice), hopefully with seals that are not dried out from storage, but I'm not as trusting on brakes. So even if I...

    Some brake questions

"that ain't normal" .....nope. On a recent thread I posted photo's of some wheel cylinders for the deuce that were part of a lot of 6 from Columbus GL. They were in Rockwell boxes and one has a number cast in and said Made in USA. It was odd and I began taking them apart. I found 3 types...
