    I can't speak for any other truck... or 'right or wrong' but I pulled the very slightly damaged bolt when i pulled the old 27MT bracket... I got my metric tap/die set out and it didn't match... whipped out the SAE and 5/16x18 was perfect... hit it with just a bit of oil and the die spun...
