    Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

    A huge percentage of those aftermarket parts are created and sold for professionally designed, current or recent-engineered vehicles or at least corporate created vehicles with the resources of an engineering department that created and had the government endorse these vehicles. Somebody takes...

    Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

    Here in Wisconsin, I just got the right to title and license for my M35A3 and the right to title and license a CUCV as a regular vehicle. That action only came about after a protracted effort by a persistent and informed few. [thumbzup] The legislation also seemed to affect vintage and hobbyist...

    Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

    It was amusing reading you armchair pontifications. I am glad you don't ever intend to own one of them "raging" whatevers. A fact about the tires on the A3: They have a n 80 PSI rating and they have never been inflated to that level while mounted on an A3. The CTIS has a max inflation of 45...

    Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

    The only stupid question is the one not asked. 4.90 gearsets make the wheels go faster. Different drive shaft speeds going into the transfer case make for surfaces that were once turning at the same speed now turning at different speeds. This difference is similar to installing lockkouts on the...

    Now you can use a formula plug in whatever variables you want like tire size, rpms gear ratios. "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, feed him for life" (paraphrasing):smile::popcorn:

    Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

    Circumference = Diameter x PIE (YUM) PIE is actually a funny looking character but I like PIE! Yes I do!!!!! 14.5 x 20 Michelin is 42ish inches in diameter ( I didn't measure one ) PIE = 3.14...... (3.14 for this discussion) So: Michelin tire goes 11 feet/rev 11ft x 2200rev...

    Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

    I had a total brain fart in thinking about how to make my A3 go faster and this is what I came up with. I am going to acquire a nice M920 and to this said truck I am going to: Replace front axle with super duty rebuilt front steer axle with huge brakes, (no gears type) eliminate transfer case...

    Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

    That transmission exists, It's called the 1545, It came installed in my A3 and after the "flush" it is a sweet tranny. To make the truck go faster, just install 3 overson 4.90 axle gear sets and your golden. They go for $1200 ish each. That option is still cheaper than a tranny swap. :popcorn:

    The 14.5 x20 michelin tire is rated for 55 mph stamped on the tire somewhere I do believe. Compund that with the fact that the military ran that tire at a maximum inflation presurre of 45 psi when it is rated for 80 psi max means that an old tire, ran at half inflation for its life before you...
