Well one problem it will solve for me is the need to replace a generator. My gen 1 light has been coming on lately and I don't want to have to get a new one.
Thanks for the offer! I might have to take you up on that. I just put a new fuse in and everything is working again. Do you think switching to 12v will solve any of my problems? Seems like it makes the system much more simple.
Just the head lights. I think I may have had the brakes and rt turn on at the moment that it went, too. I was about 10 minutes into the drive when it went. The electrical system on this truck is fairly suspect in general. I think I may replace it and see how it does in the day with less load...
The TMs have proved themselves to me. I found a fuse diagram in one and fixed my lights. 2 of the fuses had been switched and there was a 20 amp fuse where a 30 amp should have been. Needless to say, the 20 amp was blown. Thanks for helping me help myself! :D
Thanks, I didn't know what TMs and LOs were, so I had no reason to click them.
So what do the letters stand for? I've already found that there are thousands of abbreviations that are pertinent to these trucks that I have no idea about.
Edit: alright. I figured out...
I found this thread and the fuse mentioned isn't my problem.''
Edit: I just found this thread and it appears that I'm missing the 28v 10amp fuse at the bottom completely. Could that be the problem?
This fuse is in the fuse block under the dash right? How many amps is it? Sounds like the problem is the fuse falling out and not burning. Am I getting this right?
Can someone post up a picture of a fuse block with all of the correct fuses in place?
Its all the way up. I heard someone else had the same problem and he said something about a main power wire for the lights going to the fuse box. Ring any bells?
I just got my truck and none of the service lights work. The service light switch is in the correct position and it appears to be connected correctly. Where should I start looking for the problem?
I've also got a battery drain issue and I don't know where to start with that either...
Any...
