Making a Deuce a (better) highway vehicle?

operating range for the ltd 465 is 1500 to 2650 rpm and from what ive read on them max torque is at 1500 rpm. i know if you run a tractor at full rpm it wont last near as long as one at 3/4 im thinking its the same with the deuce . maximum crusing range is listed as max payload and 1500 rpm.and...

Making a Deuce a (better) highway vehicle?

.79 od x 4.9 x 2000 x 43 in tires= 66 mph... .79 od x 6.72 x 2000 x 43 in tires=48 mph standard trans no od 1x4.9 x 2000 x 43 in tires is 52 mph so if you have a trans with no od its almost equal to a trans with od 4 mph faster i dont know how much putting in od costs bet its not 3600 though...

Making a Deuce a (better) highway vehicle?

well i have been doing a bit of math 6.72 rear, overdrive .79 like some ppl put in 2000rpm 43 in tires equals 48 mph ...4.9 rear 1 to 1 high gear at 2000 rpm equals 52 mph .( 7.5 rear end 1to1 high gear 2000rpm equals 36.5 mph) if the gears ever get cheaper it will be like od. in low range if...

Making a Deuce a (better) highway vehicle?

does anybody know if the ford L9000 rockwell axles are the same as those on a deuce .because they have 3.9 axle ratio .that should give you a nice crusing speed with 1100 /20 tires. anybody know ofhand how fast 2000 rpm would be? found it 43 in tires 65.6 mph at 2000 ...82 mph at 2500 rpm

Making a Deuce a (better) highway vehicle?

i think about 90 percent of the trucks in the deuce size catagory have single axles.i dont think it would be worse than driving a jeep with big boots . hey it might even be the same as a unimog then . lol
