Hey Al, the letters look like they may have been a decal of some sort. Looks like they are baked on?. The letters are a little raised and glossy in appearance. Suppose it could have been stamped on my a machine of some sort

Kind of tacky but might work, but a guy could take a mechanical pencil or a fine tip sharpie to the old letter (provided it's desert tan).I know the older indicator panels have recessed letters. However, the newer ones have painted on lettering (not recessed into the metal).

Dash Indicator Light Install Today I installed a Brand New Dash Indicator Light set to the ole M923. I haven't touched this truck for awhile and decided to finally get it installed.

WA State Collector Vehicle Plates! After I got home from my M925A1, I marched straight down to our County Office and got my M923 plated. I've been waiting for this day since I brought the truck home. I had to wait for him to turn 30 years old to qualify for Collector Plates. My total out of...

I drove her home. She's a strong runner. The fuel was definitely turned up. She was pulling hills at 50 mph easy. When I pulled into the driveway my wife asked me what I was going to do with this truck. I just smiled.

Hi Peter! I saw the same truck around 1110 hours in the Nisqually Valley while enroute to JBLM. I picked up my truck and was on the road by 1300 hrs. Everything went outstanding. Going to start another build soon;-). The "new" truck has a few more issues to troubleshoot:-)

Yikes Peter! Glad you're OK. Better it got your shoulder rather than your head. Those tailgates have some metal on them. Those bumper steps are an absolute must. Especially for us older folk. Seems my trucks are getting taller and taller everytime I have to crawl up there;-). Other than my truck...

Lightweight Weapon Station LWS Hi DR how you doing man? The LWS (Lightweight Weapon Station) is a weapon platform found on the HMMWV's, M939 series 5 tons, and MTVR's to name a few. Rather than go into further details, heres a few pics I have saved over the past couple months;).

    wsucougarx's M923 acquisition

You're right Peter, one tire is really low on air and the other looks to be dead flat. Kind of makes me nervous 'cause GL drove the truck about 200 yards on the tires. I too am glad you didn't bid me up Peter;-). Funny thing is I bought a NOS 5 ton cargo cover kit because the trucks without a...

    wsucougarx's M923 acquisition

Got my M923 a buddy today. JY has been sitting all by his lonesome in the 5 ton corral. Today, I was blessed with another addition to the family. Did I need another truck? Absolutely not, but should my 923 decide to leave me stranded on the side of the road. I'll have something to bring her...

    wsucougarx's M923 acquisition

Haha so true Peter, I wish they made a 5 ton cargo with manual and airshift transfer case. The only thing that held me back from the M39 &M809 series 5 tons were the Sprag type transfer cases. I had really bad experience with one (Sprag) and vowed never again. I only got the one blade. It's a...

Hood Latch Drain Hole & Husqvarna Saw Well, living in the PNW we get our share of rain. Every time I go to check my oil and fluids, I get soaked with rust water that accumulates in the handle of the hood latch. Today, we put an end to it;-). Also, I picked up a Husqvarna 375k Saw off CL about...

I did find the Robotool on CL. I haven't tried her out on the lug nuts just yet. I did drop a few bids on the HEMTT. Then the next thing I know, it's past $18,000. I dropped out.

Great find Peter! Who would have thought hardtops would be so hard to find considering how many trucks have been released. Thats the thing about surplus, feast or famine. When there are plenty today, its easy to say I'll get it tomorrow. Then the tomorrow comes and the parts are nowhere to be...

Roboimpact & Slave Cables Today I bought a Roboimpact Kit and a 20 ft slave cable. I found a guy who had the Roboimpact tool for sale. He didn't know much about it other than it was a 24 volt system with a military slave plug on the end to power it. I was riding the fence on this purchase...

YRC Delivery Today...LWS Today I took delivery of a pallet of scrap aluminum parts. Thinking I may be able to use some of it. Not sure if it's going on this project truck or a different one. Hoping most of the parts are there. [thumbzup]

Craigslist score!!! I made the best score to date with Craiglist. Picked up this whole lot for $100:shock:. When I picked up the gear, the guy told me it was a short 10' slave cable. I decided to take it anyways. Turns out she's a 20 ft'er and looks brand new;-). The medium tow bar has been...
